Why is our nation divided?
Eighty years ago there was a nation who was looking for a piece of land. Now we have a country (piece of land) but we are not acting like a nation.
What is the reason for so much split on national issues? We feel that the root cause of this diversification is the teaching of different curricula at school, resulting in different personalities when it comes to professional life.
In our view, there are four types of different curricula in action in Pakistan:
- National Curriculum is taught in the government school
- International Curriculum is taught in the Hi Fi private schools
- Normal private school don’t follow any curriculum rather they follow the books developed by individual publisher who have no authenticity
- Denni Madras has their own curricula according to their sects (They don’t have a single curriculum that is why there is so much differences among the religious factions).
It is our humble request not to take it light. Presently, our sweet country is paralyzed by this split. We being academicians need to look into the solution because presently our political leadership, bureaucracy (civil and non-civil) and religious leaders are unsuccessful to unite this nation.
We believe that Traditions, culture and faith all are affected and reflected by the curriculum. Along-with, a curriculum has certain set targets. The international curriculum is structured to make our Pakistani children equivalent in traditions, culture and faith to European children. The target of our own curriculum is “to develop Pakistani children as proud Pakistani citizens having strong faith in religion and religious teachings as well as the cultural values and traditions of the Pakistani society, who has the capacity to compete internationally.”
Based on our National and International exposure, we strongly suggest that National Curriculum which is derived from our traditions, culture and faith shall be implemented. If we fail to implement the National Curriculum, which is a unifying entity, we will remain a scattered nation leading to lack of unity, cohesion and National Integration.

Assalaam o alaikum:
I have visited many private schools and institutes and asked them what is curriculum? 65% of the teachers, principals and the directors did not know what is curriculum. 25% said it is th academic content. Only 10% answered correct but incomplete. Then I conducted the workshop on curriculum.
The problem here is we do not know what is a curriculum. We think curriculum is “The academic content taught in a course or program”. This definition is true but incomplete. The actual definition of curriculum is “Curriculum is a program, system, process or a source which motivates learning, enhances knowledge, skills and abilities and develops positive attitudes, religious and moral values”.
Our curriculum is limited to the books only.
This is the main reason that our home curriculum is quite different than the school curriculum. Our home curriculum includes disrespect, lying with each other, racial hatred, provincialism, appreciating the hindu and western cultures and avoiding Islamic culture and resembling Islam with corrupt Mullas and backward lifstyle. We have adopted European and Western rationality in which we work only to get material benefit otherwise that work is nothing but a waste of time even if that woek includes helping others. This is the main reason why we are divided and mean.
If think curriculum is only in the school but in reality it is not.
